A romantic SPRING PASTEL styled bridal shoot

We might be in the heat of summer in South Africa at the moment, but today I want to throw it back to those beautiful spring days. Spring is such a lovely time of year in Durban – we all start shaking off those winter cobwebs and looking forward to another summer, the roses are blooming in Jameson Park, and the hills have started to come alive with splashes of colour. There’s no better time for love to bloom! Of course, it’s also the season of spring showers, so if you’re planning a spring destination wedding in KZN, a backup plan for bad weather is a must. Luckily it was all sunshine when we worked on this romantic spring inspired styled shoot, with a brilliant team of Durban luxury wedding vendors. I’m thrilled with how it came together!

The shoot was held at Camp Orchards (one of my fave Durban wedding venues) and the idea was to capture the essence of spring. That meant light-as-air fabrics, lush flowers, and a pastel palette, with hints of soft blush, pale blue and white setting the tone. The delicate florals were inspired by an English garden, and our bride wore a beautiful floral crown that matched her fragrant bouquet. Wearing a gorgeous gown with layers of pastel tulle and on-trend puffed sleeves from Lauren Judith-Anne, and with soft curls and dreamy makeup by Makeup by Charelle, our model, Amber, looked like a spring goddess.
