Team work makes the dream work.

A heartfelt connection is a powerful thing.

Oh Happy Day was founded in 2014. Over time, Oh Happy Day has evolved from a one-person enterprise into a team of innovative contributors, each specialising in their own unique talents – from floral designers, to stylists and décor specialists and logistics and lead wedding planners.

The OHD team believes that our ability to connect with our clients is what differentiates us from other event planners, and this connection is at the core of every event that we design.

We do more than plan events: we convert life’s biggest moments into lasting memories that our clients remember forever. At OHD we feel privileged to have had the opportunity to meet and connect with wonderful people and assist them while they prepare for some of life’s biggest adventures.

Joelene Botha

Hello, I’m Joelene, a self-confessed chocoholic, book-nerd, beach lover, wife, friend and creative who’s always planning her next adventure. My friends call me Jojo, and I’m so pleased you’ve found your way onto Oh Happy Day.

For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with creative planning. I’ve been lucky enough to turn my passion into my career, and from our very first meeting together you will feel the creative energy and excitement of your planning journey begin. I can’t help it; my enthusiasm is contagious, and I pride myself on creating cherished moments that you and your guests will remember forever.

I really love people. Relationships are ultimately what make me tick. What I love most about relationships is how unique and original each one can be. It’s my interpretation of these love stories that lends itself to creating unforgettable celebrations and happy clients.

I am so inspired by nature. When I’m not planning and designing events, you’ll find me outdoors – either on the beach or spending time in the African bush; and always with a really good book. I am supported by my wonderful husband Stef and our two handsome cats Rusty and Felix: wherever they are, is where you’ll find my heart.

Hello, I’m Joelene, my friends call me Jojo, and I’m so pleased you’ve found your way onto Oh Happy Day. For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with creative planning. I’ve been lucky enough to turn my passion into my career, and from our very first meeting together you will feel my creative energy kick in. It’s kind of contagious.

Together with my amazing team, we will walk alongside you and your partner on your wedding planning adventure, getting to know you and making sure that your day is a true interpretation of your own unique love story. Let’s get started!

Doesn't this shot make you pretty damn proud of all that our @cityofdurban has to offer? Durbs has some amazing wedding venues and creative shoot options for couples wanting something a bit closer to home...all it takes is someone in the know to point them out (*ahem....that's us).

Chris & @tisfortarryn got married on a rooftop in the centre of Durbs and hosted an awesome reception at a local wedding venue close by. Their creative shoot was captured by our insanely talented friend @kellydanielsphotography was shot all around the city. Cool or what?

Whilst we've been active here on IG, today is our 1st official day back at work and we couldn't be more excited to get cracking on all-things wedding.
