Award-winning

WEDDING PLANNING AND EVENT DESIGN

Being happy never goes out of style.

Oh Happy Day is an award-winning wedding planning company, run by a dynamic set of creatives. Based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, we travel throughout the country to make your dream day a reality. We are also available worldwide.

The Oh Happy Day experience.

The happiest day of your life deserves to be beautifully and elegantly designed.

We are in the business of bespoke wedding design and implementation. Our team is passionate about creating unique, memorable wedding experiences for our couples, and we take pride in the fact that no Oh Happy Day wedding is ever the same.

As designers we strive to be unique and push creative boundaries. We spend time building relationships with our clients, getting to know them as a couple, and then find a way to design an event that is tailored to their personality as one. It’s for this reason that our weddings are always so unique.

  • I really wish the below statement was mine but truthfully I saw it on @sophiamonique_events and it resonated with me so much that I had to share it with all our bride-friends. If you're planning a wedding, then this message is for you, with love from ALL your vendors (planner / venue / photographer / etc). .

⚫If your wedding is still a few months away, there's a good chance that your vendor is hard at work bringing together another couple's amazing day (particularly if it's peak wedding season) and they may be a bit delayed in replying to you. Rest assured though, when it comes time for YOUR wedding, they'll be giving your day just as much attention and prioritising it over weddings that aren't as time-sensitive. Even if it feels like you're being a little neglected right now, it could be an indication of how dedicated your vendor is to the job at hand.⚫ .
And now a few words from us..... As wedding planners, our jobs often take us out of the office but we also realise that our kind of job requires consistent communication with our clients. For this reason we try to enforce a 48 hr turn around time with mails where possible, AND we always tell our clients that we can be contacted via whatsapp for anything urgent at any time. Consistent communication is super important!
  • When Stef and I got married five years ago, we opted to replace wedding favours with a personalized hand written note for each of our guests. It took us absolute ages but it felt like a labour of love for our guests and each letter we wrote made us grateful for the relationships we had with the people who made up our tribe. The process also brought us down to earth a bit, reminding us about what truly mattered on our wedding day.

I'm interested in your opinions, though.
What are your views on wedding favors - yay or nay?

And as a guest I'm keen to know - what's the most epic wedding favour you ever got?

Loving this cute little favor idea on @artisaire. Their wax seals are the perfect finishing touch ❤️
  • *giggle*

Hey brides! Just a quick reminder from our hearts to yours. Don't sweat the small stuff! Remember your end goal is the celebration of your commitment to each other, and the life you're starting together.🍉 And have fun! Wedding days are for smiles, hugs, dancing and champers.
  • "You put down one colour and it calls for an answer. You have to look at it like a melody" - Romare Bearden.

Choosing a colour pallette for our clients' mood board designs is always such a fun, creative process. It starts with matching colours to personalities and making the emotional, visual... this becomes a cornerstone in the wedding design. From there, we prioritize the setting, the atmosphere and the senses. Styling options, invitations, candle scents, florals , lighting, menu selections and cake options are built on from here. And it all starts with heart!

We're in the business of bespoke wedding design - creating an authentic and unforgettable celebration that begins with getting to know you personally.

I love this image found on @artisaire and shot by @ryanfranklintits because it reflects our processes so perfectly and these colours resonate with my heart. Gorgeous ribbons by @tonoandco.
